Who we are

We provide hospital and community health services to a half a million people. We’re responsible for delivering over 70 services across 15 main locations and we employ over 6500 members of staff.

Our values of kindness, respect, ambition and collaboration drive us to provide safe, high-quality care every time.

NCIC is part of North East and North Cumbria Integrated Care System (ICS), which is a partnership of organisations including local councils, voluntary and community services that provide health and care across our region.

At NCIC, we have an ambition to deliver outstanding healthcare services to the population of North Cumbria. The Trust is committed to creating a centre of excellence in providing rural and remote healthcare and provides a wide range of community and acute services throughout our county.

We are both a challenged organisation and ambitious to improve. This means we want the highest quality leaders and professionals to join our team to help us on our journey. We are committed to our people and looking after their health and well being, prioritising education and training and treating people respectfully as key requirements for any leadership role applicant, but especially in our Chief Nurse. We are part of the Great North Healthcare Alliance and believe that collaboration and partnership, locally, regionally and nationally will help us to address health inequalities and improve outcomes and experience for both staff and patients. You will need to commit to open, transparent and honest communication and the ability to lead and inspire change at local and system level.
